However, I can't agree that casting is one of the most difficult parts of fly fishing, especially if you don't start out alone. Most folks can get the hang of it in 10 minutes or less, with help. In fly casting one throws the line, not the fly. That's what allows you to pick up and throw to another spot immediately. No reeling in. Now catching trout... that's a whole 'nother matter.
